Daniel Ligorio is considered by critics and audience one of the most promising young pianists on the Spanish national scene. He has given solo recitals as well as played with orchestras in the most prestigious halls and festivals in the country gaining great critical and public success. It is worth emphasizing the words of the famous composer Xavier Montsalvatge, “The Art of Daniel Ligorio piano does not deceive, it is above all, authentic”, in a concert at the National Auditorium with the Spanish Radio Television Orchestra, or the opinion expressed by Xavier Cester, a music critic: “Since the unforgettable Claudio Arrau´s visit there has not been heard in Barcelona a piano emperor equally extraordinary“, referring to Ligorio’s interpretation of Beethoven’s Concerto No. 5 in the Palau de la Música where he played accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia. Recently, he has taken part in several important projects such as the recording of the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra by Joaquin Rodrigo with the Naxos label, the international premiere of the Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra Juventus by Anton Garcia Abril initiating the Fiftieth Anniversary of Musical Youth of Spain and the recording of the Complete Piano Works by Manuel de Falla. Soon there will be published The Complete Piano Trios by Turina for violin and cello, interpreted by Daniel Ligorio with The Trio Arriaga, and a monographic album on the Piano Works by George Geshwin. |
