Violeta Gil García was awarded at the “Carl Nielsen International Competition 2022,” Violeta Gil pursued her studies in countries such as the Netherlands, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree under Juliette Hurel, Julie Moulin, and Wim Steinmann in Rotterdam, and in Germany, where she studied under Mario Caroli, earning both a Master’s degree in performance and a Konzertexamen at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg.
Born in 1996 in Jerez de la Frontera, Violeta began her career as an orchestral soloist at the age of 11. Throughout her studies, she has received lessons and masterclasses from renowned flutists such as Emmanuel Pahud, Emily Beynon, Silvia Careddu, Peter-Lucas Graf, Adriana Ferreira, Andrea Oliva, Josephine Olech, Álvaro Octavio, and Barthold Kuijken, among others.
She has received awards in international competitions such as the Carl Nielsen in Denmark, the Gazzelloni in Italy, as well as competitions in Spain such as the AFE 2014 or “Andalucía Flauta,” among others. She has been part of youth orchestras like the EUYO (European Union Youth Orchestra), NJO (National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands), JONDE (Spanish National Youth Orchestra), and the JDPH (German National Youth Orchestra).
In addition to regularly teaching masterclasses at various conservatories across Spain, she is invited as a professor for several youth orchestras, including the Joven Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid and the Joven Orquesta Leonesa, among others. She also performs recitals and masterclasses at international festivals such as Flautissimo in Italy, Flute Festival in Germany, and AFE in Spain.
She has collaborated and continues to collaborate with orchestras such as the National Orchestra of Spain, Basel Symphony Orchestra, SWR Stuttgart, Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville, Oviedo Filarmonía, Adda Simfònica, among others. In March 2022, she secured a temporary contract with the Philharmonisches Orchester Freiburg, and in May of the same year, she won the position of Soloist Assistant at ORCAM, where she currently works.
Throughout her orchestral career, she has worked under the baton of conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Yannick Nézet- Séguin, Johnathan Nott, Jaime Martín, Benjamin Zander, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, David Afkham, Lutz Kohl, and Bruno Aprea.
In 2023, she was named Muramatsu Spain Artist, combining her orchestral work with teaching as a professor at the Escuela Superior Fórum Musikae.
